Artemis Armchair | Pepê Lima
Artemis explores the idea of wrapping the wooden structure around the armchair’s arms, creating the illusion of solid wood as something malleable. The legs, defined by pure, straight lines, avoid visual competition with the arms—the true protagonists of the piece. Large metal buttons highlight the legs and guide the eye to the most surprising element: the elegantly rolled arms.
The rounded upholstery and lower backrest introduce a more informal approach, designed for rest and relaxation. At the top of the backrest, the wooden detail breaks through the upholstered volume and creates a new focal point, as if something were about to emerge from this seemingly flexible wood.
Despite its contained proportions, Artemis commands presence: the robustness of the wood contrasts with its compact size and evokes its inspiration—a goddess who is elegant, beautiful, restrained, yet essentially strong.
