The delicate and ornamental leaf of the Ginkgo biloba tree — also known as the Maidenhair Tree or Japanese Walnut — inspired the wooden joint you see here. Its fan-shaped form creates an arc that increases the contact area between the wooden parts, enhancing both mechanical and torsional rigidity.
The artisanal craftsmanship is evident in the woven seat, for which we suggest natural fibers such as hemp — known for its strength and sustainability — or even leather. As alternatives, square-patterned Buriti palm weave or paper cord can also be used, reflecting the flexibility of this collection.
The harmony between natural materials and a clean, trend-free design gives the piece its timeless character, creating an aura we like to call the “silence of form.” Gingko is born from an exercise in observing nature and incorporating its lines and solutions into what we love most: creating furniture for those who appreciate the subtleties of detail.
